Dick Thornett’s biography - The Natural
Triple International, Dick Thornett’s Biography, ‘The Natural’ will be released on March 18, 2025, but pre-orders are available now.
‘The Natural‘ is a book I can highly recommend, having read the proofs this year. Dick Thornett was one of Australia’s finest sportsmen, representing his country at the 1960 Rome Olympics in water polo and also playing international rugby union for the Wallabies and Test rugby league for the Kangaroos.
Dick toured South Africa and New Zealand with the Wallabies, alongside his older brother, John, and then toured Britain and France with the Kangaroos alongside his younger brother, Ken.
This book goes beyond Dick’s sporting achievements to also explore the story behind the athlete, and it is warts and all.
Dick played club rugby league for Parramatta and the Easts Roosters, and Parramatta Leagues Club is shaping as the venue for the book launch, at a date yet to be set.
